Mission

It is the mission of the VCU Student Government Association (SGA) to uphold and respond to the concerns and desires of the student body they serve and represent those issues to the university administration.

History and Contact Information

The Student Government Association is the student-led governing body for VCU. Currently, there are two SGAs overseeing the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses that represent students by working with University administrators to communicate the desires, concerns and ideas of the student body. We aim to have one SGA overseeing both Richmond, VA campuses by Fall 2017.

At this time, the Joint Student Government Council (JSGC) is recognized by both SGAs as the union of the two student governments on the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses. The JSGC works to represent the voice of all VCU students and is especially concerned with joint matters, which consist of the desires, concerns and ideas that affect students on both of VCU’s campuses. The JSGC consists of delegates from the Monroe Park Campus Student Government Association, the MCV Campus Student Government Association, the Graduate Student Association and the Student Representatives to the Board of Visitors.
